[MaryVitamin] Mary and the Eucharist

Mary Vitamin for February 19th
Topic: Mary and the Eucharist

Quote:
Bl. Teresa of Calcutta
"Mary was the first altar."

Meditation:
Blessed Teresa of Calcutta
(Transcribed from an audio CD "Mary, the Handmaid of the Lord" available from http://www.lighthousecatholicmedia.com/ )
"God so loved the world that he gave the world His Son.
I think that was the first Eucharist.…
He gave Him to Our Lady and Our Lady was the first altar.
She was the one who can, in all sincerity say,
'This is my body.'
For she gave her body, her strength, her whole being in making the body of Christ.
In her, the power of the Holy Spirit dwells and was made flesh.
And she in turn, in surrendering herself…
[kept] her Virginity virgin,
her purity pure,
her chastity chaste …"

Resolution:
Today, I will  ask that Our Lady will transform me into herself so that my heart may also become an altar for the Lord.

Marian Vow:
In  the fully approved apparition of Our Lady in Akita, Japan, the Heavenly Mother asked Sister Agnes Sasagawa of the Order of the Handmaids of the Eucharist to …

"Recite the prayer of the Handmaids of the Eucharist with awareness of its meaning; put it into practice; offer in reparation (whatever God may send) for sins. Let each one endeavor, according to capacity and position, to offer herself entirely to the Lord."
August 3, 1973

"Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, truly present in the Holy Eucharist, I consecrate my body and soul to be entirely one with Your Heart, being sacrificed at every instant on all the altars of the world and giving praise to the Father, pleading for the coming of His Kingdom.
Please receive this humble offering of myself. Use me as You will for the glory of the Father and the salvation of souls.
Most Holy Mother of God, never let me be separated from Your Divine Son. Please defend and protect me as Your special child. Amen."
I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.
