Citing of the Week
"Where difference is unacceptable, structures and relationships become brittle, ossified, fragile. Church can lose resiliency, even shatter."

THIRTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Be the good steward
In biblical times a talent was a measure used to weigh precious metals, a way of expressing economic value. Talent is still a form of treasure today—human treasure, our gifts and abilities. How we use our talents will determine the course and meaning of our lives. Stewardship is a biblical concept that calls on each of us to share, in one oft-quoted formulation, our “time, talent, and treasure” with the larger community. How are you contributing to your faith community and society at large? Are you making use of your talents to serve others or simply to build your personal treasury?
TODAY’S READINGS: Proverbs 31:10-13, 19-20, 30-31; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6; Matthew 25:14-30 or 25:14-15, 19-21 (157)
“To one he gave five talents; to another, two; to a third, one—to each according to his ability.”

Please no anonymous comments. I require at least some way for people to address each other personally and courteously. Having some name or handle helps.
