Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children, with motherly love I desire to teach you sincerity, because I desire that, in your actions as my apostles, you be exact, resolute, and above all sincere. I desire that, by the grace of God, you be open for a blessing. I desire that by fasting and prayer you obtain from the Heavenly Father the cognition of what is natural and holy - Divine. Filled with cognition, under the shelter of my Son and myself, you will be my apostles who will know how to spread the Word of God to all those who do not know of it; and you will know how to overcome obstacles that will stand in your way. My children, by means of a blessing, God's grace will descend upon you and you will be able to retain it through fasting, prayer, purification and reconciliation. You will have the efficiency which I seek of you. Pray for your shepherds that the ray of God's grace may illuminate their ways. Thank you." (February 02, 2014)

This message appears to be difficult to understand. Our Lady speaks to us of our way of thinking and acting. She calls us to "get it right" in terms of who we are and who God is, and what it is we are called to be. She wants us to be firmly attached to the truth about our lives. I read a short excerpt from the Magnificat Magazine recently that for me especially explained the sentence Our Lady gave us: "I desire that by fasting and prayer you obtain from the Heavenly Father the cognition of what is natural and holy - Divine." It is by Fr. Alfred Delp, S.J. I want to quote from it for you, but you can read it in the Magnificat, February 2014 Issue, p. 60.

Fr. Delp writes:

Humanity is nothing without God...We have it in us to conceive high ideals and work for their realization but if we are honest we will recognize the fact that we can do nothing on our own. Left to ourselves we are incomplete, not quite human. God is part of the definition of a human; inner unity with God is the primary condition for a fulfilled and successful life. The decision to recognize this is the greatest that we can make and the only one that will rescue us from the chaos in which we are involved.

Fr. Delp saw clearly that without God, we are not natural or holy, but that with Him we can become natural and holy, yes - Divine, as we are intended to be. To truly be human we must be living with, in, and for God. He completes us, and makes sense out of everything. He is the ground of our being, and the end for which we were created, He is the "sense" of it all. Only with that cognition, that understanding, can we choose Him and find Him in us. Then all will become clear! We will understand ourselves and others, and learn love.

Our Lady wants us to be fully human, as God has intended us to be. She wants us to find fulfillment and happiness. She is drawing us close to the Trinity, so that we can discover this wonderful truth, that we are loved by God and meant by God, and that we will find all meaning and truth in Him. Prayer, fasting, reconciliation when we fall, and purification when we rise again, all will bring us close to our loving Father, where we will find peace.
