Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children, with a motherly love I desire to help you for your life of prayer and penance to be a sincere attempt of drawing closer to my Son and His divine light - that you may know how to separate yourselves from sin. Every prayer, every Mass and every fasting is an attempt of drawing closer to my Son, a reminder of His glory and a refuge from sin - it is a way to a renewed union of the good Father and His children. Therefore, my dear children, with hearts open and full of love, cry out the name of the Heavenly Father that He may illuminate you with the Holy Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit you will become a spring of God's love. All those who do not know my Son, all those thirsting for the love and peace of my Son, will drink from this spring. Thank you. Pray for your shepherds. I pray for them and I desire that they may always feel the blessing of my motherly hands and the support of my motherly heart." (April 2, 2014)

Our Lady speaks so eloquently to us in this message. She calls us to live our conversion, through prayer, Holy Mass and fasting. She wants us to become springs of living water, hearts filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit, so that all those whom we meet will be able to drink from the spring of God's life giving love. This reminds me of the woman at the well in John 4!

Mirjana is a very good example of someone filled with the springs of life. Every talk she gives is full of the Holy Spirit. That is why I want to share today the second part of her talk to pilgrims, given in her home in March. (This talk is presented in Fruit of Medjugorje, Episode106 and 107) Please allow me to send the entire transcribed question and answer session to you today. It is a bit long. But you will not be able to stop reading. It is life-giving!

Questions and Answers with Mirjana 

 

Q from a young priest: My question has to do with the virtue of hope. Today there are a lot of people who are living in a lot of discouragement, a lack of hope because of the way things are going in the world and perhaps in their homes. You are someone who knows that heaven exists, you have these meetings with Our Lady, and so what is your experience of hope? Knowing what you know with your spiritual experiences, how do you live that hope, and how do you suggest that we continue to transmit that hope to a world that's in need of hope?

A from Mirjana: Father I think that the answer is simple. I always have my God, my Jesus, next to me, in my prayer, in my fasting. And who can do to me anything, what can happen to me when my Jesus is with me? I only think like this. I start my day with a prayer, and I always say, "No matter what happens to me today, you stay next to me and I can take everything." I think those who have faith, who really know the love of God don't have to be afraid of anything. This reminds me...before the apparitions started when I was a little girl in Sarajevo. Before the apparitions I was going to the best school in Sarajevo. But when they discovered I was a visionary, they expelled me immediately out of the school. And they put me in another school where all the problem students from Sarajevo who were my age were going. There were drugs, alcohol, everything...and me with them.   And the police would sometimes come in the school to take me. When my friends from the class saw the police they would run away immediately. And when I would return to school, they would ask me, "How are you smiling? We know how the police work. We know how it is with them. But you are always with a smile." And I told them, "I have my Jesus with me." And they would ask me, "Who is this mister?" And I had to explain to them, because they didn't know who Jesus is. So I told them everything about Blessed Mary, about Jesus...because this is important. Our example and our smile...if we don't have hope, who can have hope??

I spoke with a man from Italy and he told me, "I was a believer, going to church and everything, but God took my wife. I don't want this God anymore."   I said to him, "I am so sorry, but I must tell you, you must never have been a believer. You don't know what it means to know the love of God. The symbol of your faith is the cross. And if you say that you believe in God and that you love God and God gives His cross to you, you will not say "no". You will say "thank you" because you see that God will help you, and you will pray that God does not leave you alone, but you won't say, 'I don't want this God.'"

Q: Has the Blessed Mother ever said anything about the "One World Order" or the Anti-Christ or the false Prophets?

A: I can't talk about this, but I can tell you one thing. Don't think about the world, think about yourself. Because Our Lady wants us to change ourselves. If I change myself, if I put God in the first place in my heart, then I can help other people. I will tell you an example. One time we had an apparition in the church, in the sacristy on the right. The church was full of pilgrims inside and outside the church, everything was full. We ask Blessed Mary, "Are you happy now because so many people are praying?" And she said, "How many fingers do you have on one hand...that is how many people are praying." Because of this, I tell you, don't think about the future about what will be but think about yourself. Think how to change yourself.

Q: This is my first time here, I appreciate you having us. I have a personal question. Leading up to the apparition on Tuesday, can you explain to us your emotions before, during and after? Also, do you remember all your apparitions?

A: Without prayer, I cannot exist. I am so full of emotion. I want to be alone and in prayer before the apparition. Only when I am in prayer, do I feel good. I can wait for Tuesday. I am in prayer during the night and fasting. During the apparition (she started to cry) I don't know anything. I don't even know myself. I see only her. For example, I am a mother and I have two daughters. Like all normal mothers I would give my life for my daughters. But when I am with Blessed Mary I don't remember them. I don't remember that I have daughters. I only want that she will look at me and I look at her. I think that the people in heaven have a feeling like this. After the apparition, because of this, I tell people, pay attention to your ...I cannot tell you the pain I feel after the apparition when she leaves me. Like I said, I give the message for Miki to write, and then I go immediately into my room to pray. God helps me through this prayer to understand that it must be this way. Only through these prayers can I walk in this life. I need always after the apparition, 2 or 3 days, I have pressure in my head, but through prayer, I exist.

You are first time here, but you will see on Tuesday, though it will not be confusing like it is in May or June. But you will see on the way to the Blue Cross there are so many people. For example August 2, last year when I went to Apparition Hill, people were so excited to see me, and they think I am close to Blessed Mary, and from the "love" of them, they broke my arm (dislocated my shoulder). When I went to the hill to wait for the apparition, I had a big pain in my shoulder. Only those who have had such a pain know what I mean. I told Blessed Mary, "Please come quickly because I cannot resist." I was feeling that I would lose consciousness because of the pain. When Blessed Mary appeared, the pain was gone, I felt normal. But after the apparition, the pain returned. Same thing happened on September 2...same pain, but during the apparitions, no pain. And the Doctor who put the shoulder back in place said that the third time he cannot help me. I cannot raise my right arm because of this injury. But I don't feel the pain during the apparition.

Q: Fasting costs me a lot. I spend all day thinking about food. Can you give me advice on how to fast, or can I do something else rather than fast.

A: I cannot tell you to do something else instead of fasting, because Blessed Mary told us to fast. But you can try step by step to fast. You don't need to fast immediately on bread and water. You can say on Friday you will not eat meat. Catholic people never eat meat on Friday. You can start like this, and ask Blessed Mary to help you, because to be able to fast is a gift from God. Ask God for this gift. When you pray, think like this: Who is the owner of my body? This meal? Or myself? Who is the king in my heart...my God! If I can't do this for Him, this small thing, how will I do more if He asks me? But always pray, because for me personally, prayer is the answer for everything. For example, in my family I never said, "God help my daughter finish university, help with this, help with that." Never! I always say, "God, my family is in your hands, and You know what is good for us." And I pray and fast. I always say to Blessed Mary when I pray normally like you, "I can pray, I can fast, but you, you can talk with your son. Do this!"

Q: How long does the apparition last and talking about fasting, is it for all your life, or just one period of time and what is the language that you speak to Our Lady?

A: Are you sure you are not Italian. Because these three are typical Italian questions! The apparition is not always the same, from three to eight minutes. Fasting? It is for all your life. But Blessed Mary doesn't ask fasting of sick people. But sick is not headache or stomach pain. These people can learn through prayer what else they can do instead of fasting. If we are to understand Blessed Mary in Medjugorje, she must talk in Croatian! This is a typical Italian question. I remember a nice Italian man who was 93 years old. He came to Medjugorje. He told me, in front of everyone. "I was in the Second World War, a Fascist." I said, "Ok we are not all perfect. God will forgive you." But he said, "Just a moment, what language is Blessed Mary speaking to you?" I said, "Croatian", because I only understood Croatian at the time. I said I was sorry, but he said to me. "But now that you understand Italian so well, why doesn't she speak Italian???" I said, "Next time I will say to Blessed Mary, "In Italian please..." He said, "Gratia'!!

Q: Can you describe how Our Lady looks during the apparition?

A: I will try but this is a very difficult question. I can try to explain how Blessed Mary looks. She is a little taller than me, I think. Because I am always kneeling, and she is ½ meter from the earth, she is not touching the earth. She always has a grey dress with a white veil. Only on Christmas or Easter she has a golden dress. She has black hair. We can see some here (forehead) and here (down her back) so it is long. She has blue eyes. And she is beautiful. It is impossible to describe the beauty of Mary. I can see many beautiful women on earth, but this is a different beauty. Something is coming from within and showing on her face. I remember when we were children we asked her a childish question. We asked Blessed Mary how is it possible that you are so beautiful? She smiled and said, "Because I love, if you want to be beautiful, love!" During this apparition Jakov was only 9 years old. When Blessed Mary left, he said to us other visionaries, "I don't think she is telling the truth." We yelled at him, "How can you say that Blessed Mary doesn't tell the truth." "He said, "Look at us visionaries, some of us will love all of our lives but we will never be beautiful like she says." He didn't understand what she was talking about. Even now he doesn't understand everything....if you knew him you would understand what I am saying!!! Ha!

Q: What is Our Lady telling you about the youth?

A: She gave Ivan, visionary, the youth. I personally believe that our young people are only as good as our example to them. I want to say that we cannot judge them, criticize them, because they can only become what we make them. We need to pray for our youth and try to give them example of our love. But Ivan prays every day for the youth.

Q: Everyone who comes to Medjugorje says that he was invited by Our Lady. What advice can you give us on how to live this invitation and put it into practice when we get home? It is very difficult to live the messages when we get back home.

A: I will tell you what I think. I personally believe that everyone who comes here, Blessed Mary invites them. And like a sister I tell you to do this: First, confession! Because only with a clean heart can you understand. Holy Mass! Don't lose time walking everywhere. Go to the Apparition Hill, Krizevac, and the Church. Stay in all these places. Talk with Blessed Mary like with your mother. You will see, she will answer you. Then when you return home, try to live with her. Pray. Don't lose prayer. One priest said that if we want to live we must eat. Sometimes, some days we eat well, some days not so good, but we need to eat. It is the same if we want to be with God. We must pray. One day we pray well, second day, not so good, but it is important that we pray, because prayer is our conversation with the Father. Like a sister, I suggest don't lose time judging your prayers. We can always pray better. We are all on the way of holiness. I am afraid of the people who say they are praying well, and doing everything that God wants. Only God knows how we are. When you feel that you cannot do more, that your battery is empty, go on pilgrimage. I don't know in Argentina what you have, but go somewhere where it will be you and your God.

Q: What is your daily prayer life like? When you get up in the morning???

A: When it is a normal day, not near the apparition, I get up about 5 am. I pray. I like this time very much because this is the time when only me and my God are together. This is the time of my rest. And during the day I do everything like another woman, washing, ironing, cooking... all these things. In the evening, you can see that in the evening I am not here, because in the evening I go and pray also.

Q: How are your monthly apparitions different from your yearly apparition?

A: Maybe only now, when you ask me, the difference is that when I have the apparition on the 2nd of the month, Blessed Mary is always sad or decisive. But annually, on March 18, she is more with a smile. On 2nd of each month I never see her smile, never, because she is talking about unbelievers, about her children who do not know the love of God, and she knows what is in store for them, and she never smiles, she is sad or decisive to change things.

Q: Do you pray to the Blessed Mother for help with your burdens?

A: No never. Never do I ask her to help me. Because I think she knows everything. She reads our hearts. She knows what is happening every second. I only pray. I never ask for help with this or this. I only say, "My family is in your hands." If you do this, it is not wrong, I think. Because Blessed Mary is a mother, and if you have a relationship with her in which you tell her everything, why not?? Like your child asks you, why can't you ask your mother?

Q: Has the Virgin ever sent you a message for a special person, like a child or a friend, or someone special?

A: Blessed Mary always leads our conversation. I can see her for 100 years, and I will always know that she is the Mother of God and I am the one walking on this earth. I always feel in my heart what I can ask Blessed Mary and what I cannot ask. She gives me answers. Sometimes she gives us answers in a different way. For example, I was returning from the Blue Cross from an apparition. There were so many people. And I knew that I must tell something to one lady. But I don't know anything. And on my way I saw a young Italian lady, and I knew in my heart this was her. I told her "I must tell you something, but I don't know what." She started to cry and said, "I know." Blessed Mary is doing big things and she said it was a love question. (Ha)
