Also the Feast Day of Saint Roch

I have a small statue of this Saint on my bedroom altar.

Saint Roch was born of French nobility in 1285 with a natural affinity for the poor and for the sick.

While on a pilgrimage, Saint Roch stopped to minister to victims of The Plague - curing many - but eventually contracting the disease himself.

Saint Roch went into the forest to die, but was instead cared for by a dog who licked his wounds and brought him food.  Saint Roch recovered.

Upon returning home, Saint Roch was charged with spying and died in prison in 1327.

Saint Roch's Feast Day is August 16.

Please no anonymous comments. I require at least some way for people to address each other personally and courteously. Having some name or handle helps.
