Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children!

Today I call you, through prayer, to open yourselves to God as a flower opens itself to the rays of the sun.
Little children, do not be afraid.  I am with you and I intercede before God for each of you so that your heart receives the gift of conversion.  Only in this way, little children, will you comprehend the importance of grace in these times and God will become nearer to you.  Thank you for having responded to my call." (April 25, 1998)

Our Lady makes prayer sound so natural.  It is built right into the flower to open up to the warmth of the sun's rays.  The flower cannot but open up to receive the power of the sun upon its petals.  We must be built to open naturally to the love "rays" that come from God just like the flower to the sun.  But something has fouled up the works.  We don't open, and often we don't even detect the love of God shining upon us.  We must have lost our "sensors"!

Indeed, we have lost our sensors.  Original sin!  That is why we need the help of Mother Mary.  If we listen to her and draw close to her, she will help us to sense God's presence.  She will help us to learn how to open to God.  She will guide us gently toward the One we can't perceive.  And as we draw near to Him, we will begin to receive the gifts of conversion and love that He offers.

St. Faustina understood the importance of Our Lady's help:

"December 24, [1936].   During Holy Mass today, I was united in a particular way with God and His Immaculate Mother.  The humility and love of the Immaculate Virgin penetrated my soul.  The more I imitate the Mother of God, the more deeply I get to know God." (Diary, 843)

St. Faustina made it a practice to imitate Our Lady.  What a good idea!  We are being given a chance to learn from the Mother of God through her presence in Medjugorje.  We, too, can imitate Our Lady, by listening to her words- pondering them.  Her messages show us how to open up to God like the flower to the sun.  What a gift!

Later today we will receive another message from Our Lady!  Thank you, dear Mother, for coming again today for us, and speaking your words of love to us!  We want to imitate you!

In Jesus and Mary!
