Mary TV Daily Reflection 9/6/10

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! My invitation that you live the messages which I am giving you is a daily one, specially, little children, because I want to draw you closer to the Heart of Jesus. Therefore, little children, I am inviting you today to the prayer of consecration to Jesus, my dear Son, so that each of you may be His. And then I am inviting you to the consecration of my Immaculate Heart. I want you to consecrate yourselves as parents, as families and as parishioners so that all belong to God through my heart. Therefore, little children, pray that you comprehend the greatness of this message which I am giving you. I do not want anything for myself, rather all for the salvation of your soul. Satan is strong and therefore, you, little children, by constant prayer, press tightly against my motherly heart. Thank you for having responded to my call." October 25, 1988

Mother Mary wants us to stay very close to her.  She invites us to consecration to her heart, and then even more, she tells us to "press tightly against my motherly heart."  This desire of Our Mother took on new meaning for me when I read about Kate Ogg and her baby, Jamie.

Kate gave birth to twins, but her son Jamie was still born.  After Jamie was pronounced dead, the doctor allowed Kate to hold Jamie and say good bye.  Kate held Jamie against her chest, skin to skin, and spoke words of love to him.  She cuddled him against her heart, letting him feel her so near.  After a few minutes, Jamie started to make "short, startled movements." After more time, Jamie began to gasp and then he opened his eyes.  Though the doctor refused to exam him, Kate believed the Jamie was reviving. After two hours, the doctor agreed to come in and he was shocked. Jamie was alive!  Jamie is now a healthy little one, saved by the loving embrace of his mother.  (You can read about it and watch a video at http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/38988444/ns/today-parenting/)

Jamie was pronounced dead, but he was revived by his mother's heart, beating so close to him, her love encouraging him to stay, to live, her spirit loving his, as she always had in the womb. Our Lady has come to hold us close to her Heart, to encourage us with her love, and to love us with her spirit.  She wants to revive her children, drawing us into life.  If we surrender ourselves to her and let her love us this completely, she will protect us from our enemy and revive our drooping spirits.

The way to stay close to Mary is through the Rosary.  Pray, pray, pray!  Hold on to the Rosary.  Let our thoughts fly to her whenever we can.  She is with us to draw us into life!

In Jesus and Mary!
