The Advent sermons of the Preacher of the Apostolic Household, Capuchin Fr Raniero Cantalamessa began Friday morning in the Redemptoris mater Chapel of the Apostolic Palace. Speaking on the theme of the New Evangelization, Father Cantalamessa said that the success of the project requires an act of faith and hope, to lead us to overcome pessimism and resignation. Cantalamessa went on to say that, faced with a world that embraces secularism, recognizes only worldly success, and is apparently resistant to the Gospel, our efforts to proclaim the Word of God must be accompanied by the knowledge that God never abandons those who speak in his name.
