July: Month of Devotion to the Precious Blood of Jesus

Devotion to the Precious Blood

St. Peter gives us the revealed foundation for our devotion to the Precious Blood. “You were redeemed,” says the Apostle, “not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ as the Lamb without blemish or stain” (1 Peter 1:18-19).
The Meaning of the Precious Blood
Given this foundation of faith, we ask ourselves what exactly do we mean when we say we were redeemed by the Blood of Christ? We mean that unless Christ had shed his blood for us, we would not be redeemed.
In his infinite mercy, God chose to become man and die for our sins. But Christ, as the Incarnate Son of God, could not have died of any mortal sickness or disease. As the sinless Lamb of God, His death had to be inflicted outside of Himself. Moreover, having no sin on His soul which deserved bodily death, He had to…

A Great Action for God – July 2, 1951 Message

A great action for God
I see the Lady again, standing in a bright light. She smiles and says, while looking around her,
“I am content. See to the outspreading. I have said: from here a great action for God is to begin, and all are to cooperate in it.”
Explanation of the new dogma
“Now look carefully and listen. The following is an explanation of the new dogma. As Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate I stand on the globe before the Cross of the Redeemer. By the will of the Father, the Redeemer came to the world. For this, the Father used the Lady. Thus, from the Lady the Redeemer received only––now I am stressing the word ‘only’––the flesh and blood, that is to say, the body. From my Lord and Master the Redeemer received His Divinity. In this way the Lady became the Coredemptrix.
I have said: this time is Our…

Our Lady of the Holy Eucharist

The Holy Eucharist is—really, truly, substantially and living—the Body and Blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The Body and Blood of Jesus Christ was formed in the first Tabernacle in which Jesus Christ lived upon earth—namely in the sweet womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The precious blood of the infant Jesus in its first tabernacle upon earth flowed between Mary and her newly conceived child.
The Christ Child had His origin when the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary at the moment she responded to the Angel’s request to become the Mother of the Son of the Most High with the words: “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word.” And the angel departed from her.” (Luke 1:38)
The Holy Eucharist is the true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ really and substantially present under…

Fatima’s Great Message, July 13, 1917

The Fatima apparition of July 1917 has much significance for today. Many are weakening or have lost faith in the existence of the infinite and just God. Among many there is little or no faith in the reality of hell. Yet, in the July apparitions the three little shepherd children were shown a vision of hell so terrible that Sister Lucia wrote that if they had not been promised they would all go to heaven she thought they would have died on the spot.

God’s mercy is infinite. So is His justice. For God’s infinite mercy through the precious blood of Jesus to avail souls, faith, repentance and openness to his merciful love is required. Otherwise His justice must prevail.

The children beheld countless souls of sinners in hell. Our Lady, who is our Mother of Mercy, kindly but sadly said, “God wishes to establish in the world devotion to My…

Mary, Tabernacle of the Lord

The following is a homily given by the legendary Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen during a Mass at the 41st International Eucharistic Congress in Philadelphia in 1976. – Ed.
Fifty-seven years ago when I was ordained a priest, I took two resolutions: one, that I would say Mass every Saturday in honor of our Blessed Lady, for her protection during my priesthood. The second resolution was that every day of my life I would make a Holy Hour in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. These two are now conjoined, as I address you on the subject of Mary, the Tabernacle of the Lord. I shall speak of Mary and the Host, Mary and the Sword, Mary and the Holy Hour.
Not one of us has the power to make our own mother. If we did, we would have made her the most beautiful woman in the world. Our Lord pre-existed His…

St. Maximilian Kolbe and the Eucharist

Cities of the Immaculate (Niepokalanóws) consecrated totally to the Immaculate and to her cause, above all honor the Eucharist, live by the Eucharist, find in the Eucharist the principal source for their apostolate, and hope to unite the whole world as one family about the standard of the Eucharist and Mary. This ideal is pursued by the entire Militia of the Immaculate (MI). Every knight knows that in this way he imitates his founder, Saint Maximilian Mary Kolbe, that great devotee of the Eucharist. In him—by reason of his total consecration to the Mother of Jesus—”the love of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament touched his pious heart at its very roots.” (1)
The Eucharist—God with Us

Contemplating the mystery of the Eucharist, Father Kolbe was convinced—and…

Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament

The Month of Mary is the month of blessings and of grace, for, as St Bernard, in company with all the Saints, assures us, all grace comes to us through Mary. The month of Mary is a continuous festival in honor of the Mother of God, which prepares us well for the beautiful month of the Blessed Sacrament which follows it.

I. Because our vocation calls us to give special honor to the Holy Eucharist, we must not for that reason give any the less devotion to the Blessed Virgin. Far from it! He would be guilty of blasphemy who would say, “The Most Blessed Sacrament suffices for me; I have no need of Mary.” Where, then, shall we find Jesus on earth if not in Mary’s arms? Was it not she who gave us the Eucharist! It was her consent to the Incarnation of the Word in her womb…

She Gave Up Her Life for the Eucharist

The following account was written by a Catholic missionary priest in China who both witnessed and participated in the events described. As a record of exceptional brutality, it is a shocking tale. At the same time, it delights and edifies by the extraordinary power of faith, to which it bears witness.
Kneeling down in front of the altar, I began to pray, waiting to see what would happen next. Each time I heard a noise in the church or some peremptory shout in the street, I expected a brush with death. But nothing happened that day. The next day I had an unexpected visit. “The police!” I said to myself and felt the shivers run down my spine. But no. It was only an officer, who spoke perfect Chinese. He gave me the following caution: “Please go on with what you were doing.” I offered him…

The Blessed Sacrament and the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, the Holy Eucharist, is the “source and summit of the Christian life.” (1) Furthermore, it is “the sum and summary of our faith.” (2) The Eucharist is most properly “(the) true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, who is really and substantially present under the appearances of bread and wine, in order to offer himself in the sacrifice of the Mass and to be received as spiritual food in Holy Communion.” (3)

As the “true Body and Blood” of Jesus Christ, the Eucharistic species of bread and wine are “Christ himself, living and glorious… present in a true, real, and substantial manner: his Body and his Blood, with his soul and his divinity.” (4)

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Is Our Secret Weapon

I send my most respectful greetings to you, the souls serving in the world during this time. I have great respect for you because the battle being waged is without boundaries. The enemy has infiltrated every level of human existence on the earth. There is little sacred anymore and you may look for renewed efforts against God Himself, in the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Truly, the tabernacle houses the Savior, our Redeemer and Creator.
This is a sublime mercy that cannot be fully understood while you walk the earth. Those who adore the Eucharist have an inkling of Its power. Jesus transmits many choice graces during Adoration. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is our secret weapon.
Brothers and sisters, we must spread Adoration throughout the world. I will help you to do this. Look into your life and begin by making a decision to adore Jesus in the Eucharist. Then I…

The Bread of Our Heavenly Mother

The Eucharist is the Bread of the Mother of God, our Mother. It is Bread made by Mary from the flour of her immaculate flesh, kneaded with her virginal milk. St. Augustine wrote, “Jesus took His Flesh from the flesh of Mary.”
“You Are My Son”
We know, too, that in the Eucharist, together with the Divinity, are the entire Body and Blood of Jesus taken from the body and blood of the Blessed Virgin. Therefore, at every Holy Communion we receive, it would be quite correct, and a very beautiful thing, to take notice of our holy Mother’s sweet and mysterious presence, inseparably and totally united with Jesus in the Host. Jesus is ever her adored Son. He is Flesh of her flesh and Blood of her blood. If Adam could call Eve when she had been formed from his rib, “bone of my bone and flesh of…

Consecration and Transubstantiation into the Immaculate

The following is excerpted from Fr. Peter Damian Fehlner’s St. Maximilian M. Kolbe, Martyr of Charity: Pneumatologist, His Theology of the Holy Spirit (New Bedford, MA: Academy of the Immaculate, 2004).
–Asst. Ed.

Transubstantiation into the Immaculate

This usage, to many curious, of a term from Eucharistic dogma and doctrine by St. Maximilian, once in a letter and once in a conference, far from being the dangerous formula some see in it, is an original, yet deeply traditional insight of St. Maximilian. It describes very exactly the Marian mode of Eucharistic communion, or better the Eucharistic dimension of Marian mediation in the soul, precisely because it is the mediation of the Immaculate.

“Keep Praying Before Her Image and I Shall Work Miracles”

In her Eucharistic Experience of May 31, 1974 (ecclesiastical approval, May 31, 2002, see “Church Approves Apparitions of the Lady of All Nations” article), Ida Peerdeman describes how Our Lord remonstrates with humanity for it’s lack of response to the messages of the Lady of All Nations: “Ye nations, watch what has happened. You had the Lady, your Mother in your midst. She will not come again, so you will not see Her anymore,” and Our Lord once again urges priests and bishops to “perform your duty and do what is wanted of you.” At the same time Our Lord also consoles us by saying “I’ll send you the Holy Spirit. He will reign over the nations, but not… before all that has happened what She, the Lady, was allowed to announce by My will.” – Asst. Ed.
During Holy Mass (in the Chapel on Diepenbrockstraat) while we were reciting…

“Proclaim her ‘the Lady of All Nations'”

During her August 15, 1976, Eucharistic Experience (ecclesiastical approval, May 31, 2002, see “Church Approves Apparitions of the Lady of All Nations” article), Our Lord shows visionary Ida Peerdeman that many nations have chosen a false spirit, seeking to destroy the one who is the life. The proclamation of Mary as Lady of All Nations is shown to be a bridge to a restoration of the Church. – Asst. Ed.
During Holy Mass (in the Chapel on Diepenbrockstraat) at the Creed “the Light” came from the four corners of the Chapel over all those present.
When receiving “Our Lord” I saw a heavenly vision, and I thought: “Why do other people not see that ‘Light?'”
And “the Voice” said to me:
“Because I open your eyes and I make your ears hear. Tell that. I have brought you here. Yes truly, this is a Blessed Residence. Rejoice, ye nations and be thankful. A…

Victory Will Come for the “Glorified Lady”

During her May 31, 1977, Eucharistic Experience (ecclesiastical approval, May 31, 2002, see “Church Approves Apparitions of the Lady of All Nations” article), Our Lord once again shows the Lady of All Nations “in all her heavenly glory.” Visionary Ida Peerdeman hears of a coming struggle, but an ensuing victory for the “Glorified Lady.” – Asst. Ed.
August 15th, 1977
During Holy Mass “the Light” came over the altar and the priest at the Offertory, and I heard: “My blessing come down upon all of you. Remain faithful to her whom I have sent.”
After receiving “Our Lord” I saw a heavenly vision. “The Voice” spoke to me: “Come, follow me.” And I was going on a long road, with a “Radiant Figure” ahead of me. Then “the Voice” said to me: “Once more you are allowed to see her in all her heavenly glory.”

While these words were spoken, a golden gate…
