Dear Family of Mary!
Day 5 of our novena to Our Lady, Help of Christians, for her intentions:
"Love is not irritable or resentful." (1 Cor 13:5)
When
we are irritable it usually is because we have begun to think too much
about ourselves and not enough about the other. We begin to see the
little inconveniences of our day as trouble aimed at us to make us
unhappy, instead of seeing them as little crosses we can embrace with
love for the sake of those who cause them.
And
resentment is a poison that flows from lack of forgiveness. When we
resent, we judge the other, and decide we cannot let go of the harm they
have caused. Then we begin to exude the poison of unforgiven wrongs
that festers in our hearts. This poison destroys all peace and love.
Our Lady has called us to forgiveness and to peace and love. Here are two messages:
"Dear Children! Today I invite you to decide for peace. Pray that God give you the true peace. Live peace in your hearts and you will understand, dear children, that peace is the gift of God. Dear children, without love you cannot live peace. The fruit of peace is love and the fruit of love is forgiveness. I am with you and I invite all of you, little children, that before all else forgive in the family and then you will be able to forgive others. Thank you for having responded to my call." January 25, 1996
"Dear children! Today I call you to comprehend that without love you cannot comprehend that God needs to be in the first place in your life. That is why, little children, I call you all to love, not with a human but with God's love. In this way, your life will be more beautiful and without an interest. You will comprehend that God gives Himself to you in the simplest way out of love. Little children, so that you may comprehend my words which I give you out of love, pray, pray, pray and you will be able to accept others with love and to forgive all who have done evil to you. Respond with prayer; prayer is a fruit of love towards God the Creator. Thank you for having responded to my call." September 25, 1997
With
forgiveness and peace, we can begin to build a new life, a life made of
love! When we love God first, then all our other relationships and
personal problems fall into place. They make sense when God is first.
They fit into His divine plan of love. They become vehicles of that
love. Our family members become the ones who help us to be like Jesus,
to love like Him, and to give like He gives. Then life is beautiful. May
we become more and more like Jesus!!!

Prayer to Mary Help of Christians
O Mary, You love me with a Mother's heart.
Just as you held your son Jesus in your arms, you hold me in your care.
Help me in my need;
protect me day by day;
and through your Motherly intercession,
may I become ever more aware of the breath of God living within me.
Mary, Help of Christians, Pray for us. Amen
