Dear Family of Mary!

September 25, 2014
"Dear children! Also today I call you to also be like the stars, which by their light give light and beauty to others so they may rejoice. Little children, also you be the radiance, beauty, joy and peace - and especially prayer - for all those who are far from my love and the love of my Son Jesus. Little children, witness your faith and prayer in joy, in the joy of faith that is in your hearts; and pray for peace, which is a precious gift from God. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Tomorrow Our Lady gives another message for the world. Now is the time for a last look at the message for September. And what a beautiful message it is. The words alone are filled with beauty: stars, light, radiance, beauty, joy, peace, prayer, love, faith, and gift! It is like exploding fireworks, displaying all the goodness of God.

Our Lady tells us to be like the stars! What does it mean to be like the stars? Stars give off light. They don't do this intentionally. They just do it because they are burning masses of gas and elements and light emits from the burning stuff. (I am not a scientist so don't look for precise info here!) God made the stars to burn. It is part of what is going on in the universe as creation proceeds. But the light they give off apparently reveals what is in them to those who can measure the light waves. So the light carries information as well.

Well, to apply this analogy, we are created just like the stars are created. We live because that is just how God made us! And though we may not burn and emit light (we make heat by burning calories, I guess, but that's not quite the same!) we live, and by our lives we emit something like light, it is information about who we are. And it comes through our actions, our words, our choices and our gifts. This information communicates something about us to others who can perceive it. It communicates the love we have for God, for others and for ourselves. It communicates the beauty, the radiance and peace and the joy of living with God, living for God and living for others.

So, we can give off light, if by light we mean information about who we are. And this information can reveal wonderful stuff, if we are living our lives in imitation of Jesus. It can communicate the love of God for others and the joy of living with God.

Jakov has said: "We often think that if we have material riches, we have everything and we forget all about God. On the contrary without God, we are poor; only those, who have God in their hearts are whole and wealthy....My life began when I felt Jesus and Mary in my heart. My true life began when I was ten years old, at that precise moment when I truly experienced Jesus and the Gospa, when I felt them in my heart." ("A conversation with the Visionaries. By Kresimir Sego.p.64)

I think I understand what Jakov is saying. Life is only a shadow until we encounter God, and live entirely in Him. Only then will life have its true meaning and purpose.  When we do live entirely with God, then what we will communicate to others, as we do all we do in our lives, will be God and His love. We will burn with love for God in our hearts and be filled with God's burning love, and the light that we will emit will be beautiful, joyful, radiant, prayerful, peaceful, faith-filled, love-filled star light!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
