May 31, 1955 Message
Dear friends,
In light of the gravely troubling worldwide “Signs of the Times” right now,
at the outset of 2013, I believe the admonitions and directions of
Mary, the Lady of All Nations, as contained in her May 31, 1955 “Message to the Nations” is as important now, if not more so, than when she first revealed it to the Dutch visionary, Ida Peerdeman (Church approval, May 31, 2002).
In this historic, paramount message, the Lady tells us: “I have come to warn the nations: Satan is not yet banished.” Our Blessed Mother then warns and instructs us on a number of globally crucial events. Please take a moment and just read the following one or two headline excerpts from the main themes of this extraordinary supernatural message:
“Nations, be warned against false prophets…”
“The Lady of All Nations is now permitted to come in order to banish Satan. She comes to…

The Lady of All Nations Confirms Fifth Marian Dogma
Pope Francis’ entrustment of the world to Our Lady of Fatima has rekindled interest among Catholics about Marian apparitions.
The Lady of Fatima apparition came to Portugal in the last stages of
bloody World War I, while another, largely ignored Marian apparition
occurred in another small European country, Amsterdam, The Netherlands,
in the last gasps of World War II. While Fatima is well known for the
Blessed Mother’s warnings and predictions of coming events in world
politics, the apparitions in Amsterdam had even more to say about the
future of the world and humanity. And the apparitions in Amsterdam
offered a new Marian dogma much as the Rue Du Bac, Paris apparitions to
Saint Catherine Laboure in 1830 heralded the proclamation of the dogma
of the Immaculate Conception. The Amsterdam apparitions, moreover,
offered humanity help should the Church proclaim a fifth and final
Marian dogma.
Our recent article on the…

The Fifth Marian Dogma: The Church’s Unused Weapon
Pope Francis will be welcoming the Our Lady of Fatima statue from
Portugal to the Vatican next month. He plans to use the occasion to
consecrate the world in to the Immaculate Heart of Mary—as Pope John
Paul II had done in 1984 and 2000—just as the Blessed Mother had
requested in her 1917 apparition to three shepherd children at Fatima,
Portugal in order to foster world peace. Indeed, with the crises in
Syria and Egypt boiling and threatening to spillover to neighboring
states, the looming crisis over Iran’s suspected nuclear weapons
program, and Russia’s growing anti-western foreign policy stance and a
more assertive role in the rapidly deteriorating Middle East, Pope
Frances’ consecration to Our Lady of Fatima is urgently needed.

Why the Time is Ripe for the Fifth Marian Dogma
This exceptional presentation by Fr. Peter Damian Fehlner, of the
Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, on the solution to the great
crises facing the Church and the world today: the need to re-Marianize
the Church by recognizing the Blessed Mother’s universal mediation
through the solemn definition of her roles as Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix
of all graces and Advocate, was given at the Mary, “Unique Cooperator in the Redemption”
Symposium held at Fatima on May 3-7, 2005. – Ed.
I have chosen to entitle this final, concluding conference of our
symposium, the “Cause of Mary, Advocate.” Etymologically, cause is a
legal term. If its use to summarize our discussion of the mystery of
Mary Immaculate and of her unique place in the divine counsels governing
the economy of salvation retains a legal scent, that is quite
intentional. For the cause of Mary in the economy of salvation, the
place she…

The “What” and “Why” of the Fifth Marian Dogma
In simple, yet poetic and profound language the third
chapter of the Book of Genesis narrates the story of the fall of man.
Three creatures play the major roles in this momentous drama: the
serpent, the woman and the man. The serpent beguiles. The woman who was
given to the man as his helpmate lets herself be beguiled and the man
follows suit. The story seems deceptively simple, but it has monumental
implications. The man, Adam, is the progenitor and head of the human
family. The woman, Eve, is his companion. As partners they are equal,
but they have different roles. He is the head of his wife and the head
of the human family. “The whole human race is in Adam ‘as one body of
one man.’ By this ‘unity of the human race’ all men are implicated in
Adam’s sin” (1).
At the same time it…

The Fifth Marian Dogma, the Commission: Theological Gaps
In this year of the Holy Spirit, as we
approach Pentecost Sunday, I rejoice to discuss one most intimately
united with the Spirit of all human beings. Vatican II calls Mary “the
temple” (sacrarium) of the Holy Spirit, that which St. Paul says of all
Christians (1 Cor. 3:16; 6:19). Saints and four Popes have sought to
express this mysterious relationship between the Virgin Mary and the
Holy Spirit by the word “Spouse,” and even this word scarcely expresses
the amazing relationship between this unique creature and the divine
Person.
We are dealing with an aspect of Our Lady’s life which concerns us
beneficiaries of the Redemption achieved by her divine Son. I will note
and discuss the opposition to a papal definition of Our Lady as
Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix of all graces, and Advocate, and I ask those so
opposed to pause and reflect a little. These titles relate to…

A Bishop’s Plea for the Fifth Marian Dogma
Every true Catholic has devotion to Our Lady. Our Lady is not only
honored as Mother of God, admired as immaculately conceived,
appreciated as perpetual virgin and sought after as Queen assumed to
heaven, but she is considered as our own Spiritual Mother.
In India, Marian devotion is quite strong. Mary is the Chief Patron of
India, especially since independence was granted to the country on the
Feast of her Assumption on the Fifthteenth of August. Culturally in
India, women are held in high esteem, although in practice there may be
cases of ill treatments. According to the Hindu mentality women are
loved and revered. The Godhead is conceived as having a female
counterpart. God Vishnu has Goddess Lakhmi and God Siva has Parvathi.
The Hindus think that by placating these female deities, they…

Novena for the Fifth Marian Dogma “Day of Dialogue” : March 25, 2010
On March 25, 2010, a “Day of Dialogue” will take place at the Vatican
Forum on the issue of the appropriateness of a fifth Marian Dogma, the
solemn papal definition of Our Lady as the Spiritual Mother of all
humanity, the Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix of all graces and Advocate.
Bishops and theologians from different parts of the world have been
invited by Inside the Vatican Magazine, moderator of the discussion, to
partake in the Church dialogue, one which could have significant and
even historic effects of the solemn definition of Our Lady’s spiritual
motherhood and thereby on the entire Church and world.
The following Annunciation Novena has been adapted and initiated by
members of the Christian faithful to pray for the success of this Roman
Day of Dialogue and for the eventual definition on the Fifth Marian
Dogma. We are happy to forward…

5th Dogma a Marian Antidote: Interview With Syro-Malabar Cardinal Vithayathil
KERALA, India, MAY 21, 2008 (Zenit.org)—An antidote to the challenges
facing the Church and society today is the glorification of Mary
through the proclamation of a fifth Marian dogma, says Cardinal Varkey
Vithayathil of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church.
Cardinal Vithayathil, major archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Archdiocese
of Ernakulam-Angamaly, is one of the five cardinals who sent a letter in
January inviting prelates worldwide to join them in petitioning
Benedict XVI to declare a fifth Marian dogma they said would “proclaim
the full Christian truth about Mary.”
The text includes the petition that asks the Pope to proclaim Mary as
“the Spiritual Mother of All Humanity, the Co-redemptrix with Jesus the
Redeemer, Mediatrix of all graces with Jesus the one Mediator, and
Advocate with Jesus Christ on behalf of the human race.”
