Bringing the Virgin Mary to the top ten

Inside
his Parisian apartment there is a large collection of souvenirs,
especially on his desk—photos of himself with the singer Dalida whose
press agent he was for three years. There are also two LP records he
made in his youth under the name of Guazzi Manual; and dozens of photos
with other celebrities...
Then, in the center of the room, there is a plastic bottle shaped like
the Virgin Mary, filled with holy water. "I've never shared this in
public, but one day when I was young, I was immersed in a healing pool
at Lourdes. And it really changed my life. All of a sudden, while I was
filled with complexes—thinking I was too tall, too shy, and withdrawn—I
was cured."
These words come from Max Guazzini, the man responsible for the success
of NRJ (“energy”) Radio (France) and the French rugby Stadium. Guazzini
recently released a CD of sacred music entitled "Songs of Mary." On the
album cover he wrote, "It is good to turn to Mary in these times when
the Christians of the Middle East and elsewhere are being persecuted."
The man who brought the dancers of the Moulin Rouge in Paris onto the
field of the Stade de France, gave himself a new mission: bring the
Virgin Mary to the top ten!
