Our Lady of Tears

From August 29 to September 1, 1953, a small plaster plaque of the Virgin Mary shed real human tears in Syracuse, a small town on the south-east coast of Sicily, Italy.

MY REFLECTION TODAY

Message # 29, titled 'The Triumph of My Immaculate Heart' is quite long . . .

Our Lady thanks Fr. Gobbi for coming to Her Shrine and praying before Her image known as Our Lady of the Tears. He was also celebrating his ninth anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.

But Mother Mary says that it was Her gift to him that brought him there, not his own idea! She talks about Fr. Gobbi's sufferings, his abandonment, even his almost despairing. (Believe me, I've been there, so I know what Our Lady is talking about!) But now, because of Her, his heart is full of joy and he realizes that Mary has a plan for him (and us).

Fr. Gobbi (and us), has been chosen for the Triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart, and these are the times of the Triumph! This Triumph will cause amazement to the angels, joy to the saints, consolation, mercy, and salvation for a greater part of mankind; and the definitive defeat of Satan and his cohort! Just when the devil thinks he has won, Our Lady will crush him and he will be left empty-handed. This, She says, is the Triumph of my Immaculate Heart in the world!

Mary says to entrust ourselves to Her totally at every moment and She will speak to us and tell us Her desires. Do not be afraid of the difficulties and misunderstandings that will come our way; She will be with us at every moment and we will be joyful!

Finally, Mother Mary has given us a weapon: Prayer! Forget everything else, She says, there is no longer time for useless discussions and vain and superfluous things; this is the time of prayer! Why? Because Our Lady needs us united with Her in prayer to intercede with Jesus, Her Son for the salvation of the world. Imagine that, Mary needs us! Now doesn't that make you joyful and have a meaning for your life, no matter what state you are in. What a blessing Our Lady has given us, to be part of Her and God's Triumph. All I can say is "Lord, I am not worthy" but here I am, use me for Your Holy Will!
