A REFLECTION FOR TODAY

'The Caress of a Mother' is the title of today's Message # 30, which I have just read.

Our Lady is telling Fr. Gobbi (and us) how much She loves us, a love of predilection ( a preferred and special love). Why? Because She alone takes real care of us. Many think that Mother Mary only bestows spiritual graces on us, but She is much more a Mother than that! She is our life! Our Lady grants us the needs for everyday life. But we don't notice it because we're usually too wrapped up in our own little world; A splendid bright day; a clear blue sky; a blanket of snow touched by the sun; are signs from Our Lady to remind us of her immaculate white robe, Her heavenly mantle which She covers us in!

We are all under Mary's mantle of protection, like a mother hen covers and protects her chicks. Even Our Lord dreamed of this on the way to Calvary: "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!" [Matt. 23:37; Luke 13:34]

In the next paragraph Mary is asking for prayer; transform every moment of our day into a colloquy with Her, a rap session, so to speak; we pray, She listens and prays to the Blessed Trinity for us; then Jesus responds with His graces for our needs! Our Lady says She wants to hear our voices constantly. Are we praying?
